Spices, Sugars and Additives
There are variety additional ingridiants that can be added to the brewing process. Ingridiants such as spices, herbs, Sugars, chemicals an enzymes they all can contribute to adding character and help to achive the desired results.
Sugars will help to carbonate the beer without changing the flavou, usually corn sugar, table sugar, or rice syrup solids are used to carbonate the beer. Sugars also will lighten the body of the beer by completely converting to alcohol.Some Sugars such as Dark Belgian Candi will slightly change the color of the beer. Darker candies will add burnt caramel or intense molasses character to the beer. Brown sugar is just normal table sugar with some molasses added. Molasses will give your beer a rum like character. Honey and maple add honey and maple notes to your beer.
