Dry and fairly light. Nice and roasty without being overpowering.

A hit so far with my visiting family

My family visiting was eager to try home made beer. So far nothing but praise thanks to this recipe. Thanks Brian

a MAJOR hit

I had brewed my first generic beer from a kit out of a box, and it turned out well. This time around I wanted something a bit bolder in flavour.

I met Brian @ Centennial Home Brewing and after discussing the matter, he steered me toward this recipe and promptly gathered the ingredients. Per his instructions and ingredients, I brewed this up the following day. After racking to the secondary fermenter I added 5 whole vanilla beans, stripped and chopped into inch long pieces, then soaked them in a cup of Southern Comfort for a day to sanitize them. I added the vanilla bean and bourbon straight to the fermenter and let it sit for an additional two weeks and then bottled. The final product was probably the best beer i've ever had. Super drinkable and not too heavy, beautiful head, delicious through and through. I have 20 others who also dipped into it at a party and agree, so it went QUICK. Too quick infact. So today I popped into Centennial Home Brewing again to assemble ingredients for a double batch! This one is for sure going to be a staple in this house. HIGHLY recommended.
